fellows with training/experience in Parasitology/
Microbiology/Molecular Biology, and a career interest in molecular
epidemiology of parasitic infections.

Description of
workshop:
This will be a 5-day
intensive lecture and laboratory-based course on the basic principals
and techniques used for molecular epidemiology of enteric opportunistic
protozoa.
Techniques to be taught
will include extraction of DNA from stool/tissue, PCR, PCR-RFLP,
preparation of samples for DNA sequencing, sequence analysis and use of
these methods for detection, species determination, genotyping and
fingerprinting of isolates.
